Communications

Responsible for the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) telecommunications which includes acquisition of new equipment and dissemination of information on present features and new technology. Coordinates with vendors on installation and repair to telephone equipment.

Safety

Responsible for the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) materials safety and environmental protection programs which includes the removal of chemical waste, toxic waste and contaminated material.

Security

Responsible for LDEO security matters such as day-to-day activities of security guards and handling emergencies at LDEO or surrounding area which impacts on operations. Oversees installation and upgrades of LDEO locking systems..

Oversees electronic and mechanical security systems.

Property

Coordinates with the University Risk Management Office in insurance acquisition and reports all losses of insured items. Facilitates insurance reports and settlements for federal liability, property, marine cargo and self insurance program. Investigates all property losses. Supervises the maintenance of records for government and University owned equipment. Coordinates with Property Office inventory preparation. Responsible for disseminating procedural information on property regulations.
