Charge
The goal of the Environmental Committee is to foster conservation of the earth's resources and preserve environmental, ecological, and aesthetic values at Lamont.
- Will focus on issues deemed appropriate by the membership and administration, and will add issues as needed.
- Should be involved in major environmental decisions and related policy development at Lamont. In the future, we would like to be able to inspire and be a model for the local and regional community with our success in addressing various environmental concerns.
- The committee will be comprised of volunteers from all institutions on the Lamont campus and will be open to anyone who would like to serve. For management efficiency, sub-committees will be formed to address individual issues.
The following areas need to be addressed:
1. Recycling;
2. Use reduction and avoidance of toxic materials;
3. Preservation of Lamont grounds;
4. Energy Efficiency;
5. Lamont campus and land planning.

There should be rotation of people on and off the committee to give all who would like to, a chance to serve. Anyone with special expertise to address particular issues is welcome and encouraged to share their knowledge anytime.
